The Northern Lights (train)

The Northern Lights is a train which runs daily between London King's Cross and Aberdeen via Newcastle, Edinburgh Waverley and Dundee in both directions.
It is currently operated by GNER and leaves King's Cross at 1030 and Aberdeen at 0955. The journey takes around 7 hours.
Traction is provided by a High Speed Train, formerly the Intercity 125 as diesel power is required between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. The train normally runs as a 9 carriage formation, with two first class cars, one restaurant car and six standard class coaches.
