The Night and Day Café
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Night and Day Café is a popular cafe bar and live music venue located on Oldham Street, Manchester. The establishment provides live gigs most nights of the week, from new indie bands on the Manchester scene like the Waltones through to more established singer-songwriters, as well as acts such as David Devant and his Spirit Wife and Abstract Dawn, who provide visual as well as musical entertainment. Other new acts proposed for the venue include The Railway Children, The Danny Boys and the very vibrant Donnybrook Affair.
The venue was threatened with closure when a redevelopment of the building was proposed, which would have featured a Manchester store for Urban Outfitters (they finally located in a unit in Market Street).
The venue is located between Magma Design Bookstore / Vinyl Exchange on one side and Café Pop / Dry Bar on the other. It is near to the Westworld Retail Corp. Fashion store and the Manchester branch of the Forbidden Planet comics and collectors store.
