The New Noise Theology E.P. is a release by Swedish Hardcore/Punk outfit Refused, which features their flagship "New Noise", and the previously unreleased songs "Blind Date" and "Poetry Written in Gasoline". Also, a remix of "Refused Are Fucking Dead" [a song found on "The Shape of Punk to Come", their most acclaimed album which was released in the same year] features on the CD. These songs later appeared, in the same order, on the 2004 re-issue of "The E.P Compilation".
Quite unusually, it appears that the cover art on the CD has been switched over, so that the graphics made for the back of the CD appear on the front, and vice versa. The music video for "New Noise" can be found on the CD when inserted into a computer, albeit in low quality.

[edit] Liner Notes
"The New Noise Theology is a force of violence and seduction. Since the spectacle of the modern ways of production are killing true creativity we would like to bring about a new beat that we can scream along to, disguised in the guise of popular culture. Within the sphere of capitalist alienation every aspect of our lives is controlled and manipulated and we need to use the powers invested in us to bring about the total destruction of the industry that supports us with uncreative and lame sounds. Scraped from the walls of Rue de Asas, the unknown poet could have designed the impeccable essay of linguistic anarchy and we need within the musical medium to redesign the thoughts and ways supplied to us by the perverted music industry. Turning the focus from the producer/consumer relationship into communication and dialectics, we need to challenge and to become more then nostalgia items. We need to obey our own laws and desires, those of revolution and those of change and unpredictability. We need to apply the new noise into our everyday lives to make it a truly inspiring force. New Noise. Can I scream? It's here for us to admire if we can afford the beauty of it. If we can afford the luxury of turning our heads. If we can adjust that $1000 smile and behold the creation of man. Great words won't cover ugly actions and good frames won't save bad paintings. We lack the motion to move to the new beat. When the day is over the doors are locked on us. Cause money buys the access and we can't apply the cost. How can we expect anyone to listen if we are using the same old voice? We need new noise, new art for the real people. We dance to all the wrong songs and we enjoy all the wrong moves. We are not leading. Yeah. The new beat. Blinddate. So you want to go out with me, watch me get on my knees and bleed? I stole this scrapbook from you but it doesn't matter cause you stole it too. Sugarcoated kisses from my lips gives the excitement of a stolen bliss. To create, to love and fight, we won't sleep at all tonight. So you wanna watch me scream, dance with me and watch me bleed? Steal the sound and love it too, then baby I'll howl for you. Confused and exhausted but with a healthy fix so let's drink some potion and get it over with. They're all screaming about the rock 'n roll but I would say that it's getting old. It belongs in the museum where it's rotten soul been sold. Explosive and crude, out of line and out of tune. Somehow knowing that we'll get the message to you. Hang on as the rebirth of cool takes place, you'll know the time and we'll set the pace. Shake it around, move across town and bring their idols down. Poetry written in gasoline. Scrap the extras cut out the spareparts let's keep our eyes wide open. Fuck the idol reject the start let's feed ourselves some struction. Convention blackmails creativity this lack of challenge kills me. Manipulate the obvious. Cowards bought by traditionalist manners. Scream at the herd that are heard the most without substance and with useless banners. The rhymes of revolution. Poetry written in gasoline. Your art is worth nothing like a city without meaning your creation holds no hope.
