The New Adventures of Blinky Bill

The New Adventures of Blinky Bill was a puppet series that ran on ABC TV for 4 seasons from 1984. After production ended, it remained on the air in repeats until 1991.
The show was a follow on from the original books by Dorothy Wall (hence the title). The only characters to appear from the books were Blinky Bill himself, Mrs. Magpie, Angelina Wallaby and Walter Wombat. New characters were introduced such as Charlie Goanna, Eric the Anteater, Sybilla the snake and Kerry Koala, with whom Blinky had a love/hate relationship.
The series was set in Bollygum National Park. For the first two seasons the wildlife ranger was known as Ranger Barry (played by Robert Hughes). When he left to get married he was replaced by Ranger Ken, and later Ranger Bob.

In 1994, the character Blinky Bill returned to ABC television, this time in the almost identically titled animated series, The Adventures of Blinky Bill.
