The National Cyclopaedia of American Biography
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The National Cyclopaedia of American Biography is a multi-volume collection of biographical articles & portraits of Americans, published since the 1890s. It is generally regarded as not being very scholarly or selective. The primary method of data collection is by sending questionnaires to subjects (or their relatives) and trusting the replies. It has over 60,000 entries, in 63 volumes. The entries are not specifically credited, but the overall editor is J.T. White (James T. White)[1]. It is often compared to the Dictionary of American Biography.
