The Mysti Show
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Mysti Show is a British children's television programme, produced by Mystical Productions for the BBC in 2004-2005. As of 2008 it is uncertain whether more episodes will be produced. The Mysti Show was on every saturday morning for an hour on BBC1/2 at 10am and is repeated on CBBC.
The Mysti Show is a ground-breaking mix of drama and entertainment and features Mysti (Laura Aikman) who is half-human and half-fairy and is torn between her two worlds.
Each week Mysti and her friends Rick (Oliver Mason), Ella (Eva Alexander), Ollie (Ashley Campbell) and Abby (Yasmin Paige) explore life in both worlds, dealing with the universal ups and downs of growing up.
In series one, the show was a mix of drama and entertainment. Many well known faces appeared on the show, including, Jackie Chan, Steve Coogan and Kirsten Dunst. Singers and bands include Mcfly and Jamelia.
In series two, the show was renamed to just Mysti, ditching the entertainment section and running just as a drama. In the story, Mysti is banished from the heath, thinks her magic is taken away and the characters have grown up and are in the 6th form. She gets new magic that the Fairies have not seen before. In the second series Ollie leaves and the only Fairies are Dust, Saber, Tatiana and Peri. The Fairies in series one have not been seen.
As a fairy, Mysti is hundreds of years old, and an inch long. When she takes human form she is a 5ft 4in teenager.
She likes fashion, magic, interviewing pop stars, rap, dancing, handsome human and fairy boys; and dislikes bullies, fairy choir, being on litter duty, people who tells lies and tidying her mushroom. She is occasionally mischievous, and has an ambition to succeed her mother as Queen of the Fairies.
