The Morning Journal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Morning Journal is a newspaper based in Lorain, Ohio. Originally the Lorain Journal, it was an afternoon paper which was historically more popular in an industrial town like Lorain, but switched to morning publication in the 1980s.
It is the primary paper in the city of Lorain, but also serves the wider area of Lorain, Erie, and Huron counties, and the western Cleveland suburbs. It calls this area "the Golden Crescent".
Its editorial policies have historically been liberal-leaning and decidedly pro-labor, consistent with its readership base having a large number of hourly unionized steelworkers and automotive workers.
The Morning Journal is also the name of a Lisbon, Ohio, newspaper circulated in Columbiana County, Ohio, and environs.
