The Moral Maze
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Moral Maze is a radio programme on BBC Radio 4 in which four regular panelists discuss moral and ethical issues relating to a recent news story. The debate is often combative and guest witnesses may be questioned aggressively. The programme is hosted by Michael Buerk and the regular panelists are Claire Fox, Ian Hargreaves, Clifford Longley, Michael Portillo and Melanie Phillips. Notable former panellists include Rabbi Hugo Gryn; Michael Gove, now Conservative Member of Parliament for Surrey Heath; the philosophers Simon Blackburn and Roger Scruton and the historian David Starkey. The programme was originally on Thursday mornings, but was moved to an origination on Wednesday evenings in the 1998 schedule changes.
[edit] Criticisms
The Moral Maze was cited by Jamie Whyte in his book on logic Bad Thoughts (US edition: Crimes Against Logic) as a model of poor argumentation.
