The Mistake [1] were a hardcore band from Orange County, CA. Started in 2000 by Javier Van Huss (Eighteen Visions[2] / Enewetak ) and Erick Pressman, they were originally called Hara Kiri, but changed their name to The Mistake after only a few shows. In 2001 they released a demo. In 2003, after a number of member changes, they released a 7" / CDep titled "Fuck Everything Up"[3]. After even more lineup changes they released a split 7" with Carry The Casket in 2005. All 3 records were released on Prime Directive Records[4]. They were set to record an LP for Indecision Records, but things fell apart before that could happen.
After their break-up Van Huss started Neon Claws with members of Carry The Casket.
The Mistake cited Left For Dead, Born Against, Los Crudos and American Nightmare as influences.
