[edit] History
Founded in 1965, the Mississauga News is characterized by its coverage of local issues, including those relating to civic politics, arts and entertainment, sports, crime, and recreation. Editorially, the paper asserts a centrist, if not right-of-centre political stance. Over the years, the News has served to venerate the leadership of longtime Mississauga mayor and fiscal conservative Hazel McCallion. In the last Ontario provincial election, the paper's political writer, Craig MacBride, endorsed the Liberals overall provincially and individual Liberal candidates in all but two of the city ridings.
The publisher of this paper is Ron Lenyk.
