The Missingmen are a punk rock trio formed by Minutemen/fIREHOSE/Stooges bassist Mike Watt to record the followup to his 2004 album The Secondman's Middle Stand. In addition to Watt, the band includes guitarist Tom Watson (formerly of Slovenly and Watt's touring groups The Pair Of Pliers and The Jom And Terry Show, and currently with Red Krayola), and drummer Raul Morales (formerly of FYP, currently of Killer Dreamer and The Leeches; also a member of Watt's punk organ trio The Secondmen since August 2004).

The band's name is a humorous reference to the fact that during a 2005 European tour behind ...Middle Stand, neither of the original Secondmen (Pete Mazich and Jerry Trebotic, who both played on the album) were able to participate.

Watt's first performances with this group took place in the autumn of 2006, opening for M. Ward. Now he is with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Europe. Watt intends to record with the Missingmen sometime in 2007 for his fourth solo album; according to Watt interviews with Guitar World[1] and Bass Guitar Magazine[2], the album will feature short songs inspired by the paintings of Hieronymous Bosch.
