Starting in 2005, various messages in news stories on the Official Misfits Website [1] confirmed that a new album of original material was in production.
Singer and bassist Jerry Only described it as "The hardest, most aggressive Misfits material yet to be heard in the band’s legacy." The early stages of writing on the album reportedly began after the conclusion of the Fiend Fest tour. [2]
