The McLaren Building is a 69 metre tall office building in Birmingham, England designed by Philip Bonham Associates. It is a thin green and brown building which is home to many businesses including Scott Wilson and Birmingham City Council's Eastside development team.
It is situated on the edge of two massive redevelopment sites and buildings of a similar proportion to The McLaren Building are being constructed: Masshouse and Martineau Galleries.
During the demolition of Masshouse Circus, the rear of the building was closed due to the threat of falling debris.
The building was owned by the Birmingham Alliance, the developers of the nearby Martineau Galleries, however in November 2006, this was sold to Nikal, a Manchester-based company who is one of the partners in Masshouse Developments. It was purchased for £25 million. It is believed that the tower will undergo a refurbishment during the construction of Masshouse which will make the building more attractive to tenants.
