The Mavis's

The Mavis's were an Australian alternative rock band.
"The Mavis's" originally formed in Ballarat, Victoria, where they became well know in local music venues. The band comprised Matt Thomas (guitar/vox), Becky Thomas (vox), Nick Gill (guitar) and Andrea Vendy (drums)Josh Alexander (guitar). They are best known for their 1998 synth-driven single "Cry", which appeared on the Triple J Hottest 100, 1998; they also performed the song on Hey Hey It's Saturday.
In late 2000, they followed with the single "Happiness" which appeared on a television advertisement for Coca-Cola and Australian Hyundai Motor Company, which the company original slogan was ‘Hyundai is happiness’.
Since their split, their keyboardist/singer Rebecca Thomas has gone on to front the rock band Beki and the Bullets. Matt Thomas fronts "The Blow waves"
