The Maker (Spanish El hacedor) is a collection of prose poems by Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, published in 1960 as the ninth volume of his Obras completas (Complete Works), a project he began in 1953. It was published in English as Dreamtigers in 1964.

The title refers to the Scots word makar, meaning "poet".
