The Luxury Of Hysteria is the fourth solo album by You Am I frontman, Tim Rogers, and his first credited solely to his name, although his backing band, The Temperance Union, do play on most tracks. The album was released on the 29 September 2007. The first (and so far, only) single from the album, 'When Yer Sad' was only released to radio and TV.[1] Rogers actually created his own record label, Ruby Q, specifically to release this album, so he could remain free from any creative control issues.

[edit] Tour

The brief album launch tour in support of The Luxury Of Hysteria began on October 3rd, 2007 and last for approximately 1 month. The performance consisted of a 4 piece orchestra set, The Temperance Union and Louis Macklin on the keys. The tour brought a different experience to what fans of Tim Rogers are used to. Each show was brought to auditoriums in a sit-down, intimate event that allowed the full beauty of the album to be enjoyed. The shows were accompanied by stunning visuals projected behind the band which allowed the audience to be intoxicated with both audio and visual sensations.

There was some discussion on the You Am I message board in regards to the price of the tickets for the tour. A few people believed the slightly higher price for entry (in comparison to the usual $35 price to see You Am I) was unfounded. Those beliefs were held until the complainants actually saw the show and realised that the cost was necessary because of the extra touring performers and visual experience.
