The Lineup (TV series)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Lineup was an American police procedural television series which aired on CBS from 1954 to 1960, possibly in response to NBC's hit Dragnet. (In the syndicated reruns the title was changed to San Francisco Beat.) It starred Warner Anderson as Lieutenant Ben Guthrie and Tom Tully as Inspector Matt Grebb. Storylines were based on incidents in the actual case files of the SFPD. The series was a Desilu production.
A film of the same name based on the series was released in 1958 by Columbia Pictures. It co-starred Eli Wallach and was directed by Don Siegel.
