The Last (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Last are a Los Angeles-based power pop band formed in the 1970s around three brothers: Joe, Mike and David Nolte. They released several albums on SST Records and Bomp! Records. With a break occurring in the mid 1980s, the band recorded sporadically with Joe and Mike Nolte as the core members for nearly twenty years. Their most recent album, 'Gin and Innuendoes', was released in 1996. The early '80s lineup of the band, featuring organist Vitus Mitare, still performs occasionally in Southern California.
David Nolte left The Last in the mid-'80s and, after stints in various L.A. bands, has enjoyed a successful career as a touring bassist, having worked with Dave Davies of the Kinks, David Gray, Wondermints and many others.
