The Lady in Red is a 1935 Warner Bros. cartoon in the Merrie Melodies series.
As with many of the early Merrie Melodies cartoons, part of its purpose was to promote a Warner song. In this case, the 1935 Warner film In Caliente (also known as Viva SeƱorita) featured a song called "The Lady in Red".[1] Like the film, the cartoon was set in Mexico. The song would later become a staple of Carl Stalling's catalog of musical cues when he took over music direction of the Warner cartoons in 1936.
