[edit] History

In 1998, Tom Gimbel left his employer to start the first Chicago firm to offer employment solutions to the accounting and finance world. With only $1,000, four employees and less than 1,200 square feet of office space, Gimbel opened The LaSalle Network’s first office.

Within the first year of business, The LaSalle Network reached sales of $1 million, and by the second year hit sales of $3 million.

The recession during the early 2000s hit the staffing and recruiting industry hard, but The LaSalle Network doubled its placements and added staff. In 2001, The LaSalle Network introduced its office services unit. The same year, The LaSalle Network experienced annual growth of 35 percent, and was ranked in Dun & Bradstreet and Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Hot 100: Fastest-Growing New Businesses in America.” [3]

The LaSalle Network opened its second office in Schaumburg in 2002, which was followed by the opening of its Oak Brook office in 2004. By 2005, The LaSalle Network had completed its fourth consecutive year of 35 percent annual growth and opened its first client on-site location in Hoffman Estates.

In 2007, The LaSalle Network was listed on Inc. 5000, and its CEO, Tom Gimbel, was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The LaSalle Network also announced plans to open three more offices in late 2007 and early 2008 in Tinley Park, Gurnee and Evanston.
