The L Magazine

The L Magazine is a bi-weekly city guide for New York City, focusing on the downtown neighborhoods of Manhattan and Brooklyn; its style is based on similar magazines such as Pariscope Magazine of Paris, France. The first issue was published in April of 2003. [1]

N. Scott Stedman is the founder and publisher. He launched the independent magazine from a one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn with editor Jonny Diamond, Dev Subhash, and brother Daniel Stedman.

On October 29, 2004 staff members of The L Magazine competed against rival weekly New York Press's staff in a series of boxing matches. The L Magazine was undefeated. [1]

In the Spring of 2008, Scott and Daniel Stedman launched the website Yourlocal.com

The L magazine also has a websitewhich features a daily blog about town written by L magazine writers Mark Asch and Edith Zimmerman.
