The LBG

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The LBG is a rock group from Chennai, India. They were formerly known as Little Babooshka's Grind. They are noted in the Indian rock music scene for performing only originals and no covers.

LBG released its second album Bad Children on November 18th, 2006 with a special launch performance at Distil, Taj Connemara. The 11 song full length album (short listed from over 25 songs) was a culmination of over 2 years of song writing, dedication and hard work. The album was recorded over a 3 month period with the band taking time to reflect over the material and making the appropriate adjustments to bring their vision of a quintessential Indian rock album to reality. The band believes, as it did when it released its first album in 2004 titled This Animal is called the Wallet, that the songs reflect a certain state of mind as well as aspirations, fears and hopes for the future.

Tempered with a fair amount aggression and well rounded instrumentation, the album sees its members pushing the envelope in terms of what is normally considered an Indian rock album. It has also shot a video for Basics of Life that premiered at Distil.

Bad Children is a personification of the rebellious tone of the compilation and the band's journey & adventure on the 'road less traveled'

LBG have been around for about 6 years and is one of the pioneers of performing original music in Chennai. They performed at last 2 years of JRO (June Rock Out)where they released their full length album on July 10, 2005. They have sold over 700 Albums till date at the shows and over the Internet which has been received with rave reviews.

Their musical influences range from blues to reggae to hard rock and jazz. "So we are not a metal monger type band and consider ourselves to be rock alternative."

LBG is being backed by a professional Advertising Agency in Chennai called 'MMU Communications' which provides assistance in all promotional activities (PR), Hoardings, Poster Design, E-mailers, SMS Messaging, Newspapers Ads) for all their shows.

"We pride ourselves on our ability to play originals and still put on an entertaining quality oriented act. Though not playing covers are a turn off for some organisers, we can assure you that all pro-cover organisers who have reluctantly put us on Concert Bills have been overwhelmed at the audience response and satisfaction."
