The Knowledge Network is a not-for-profit, organised professional network that offers both virtual and face-to-face networking opportunities for business people and other professionals. Based in Luton, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, The Knowledge Network was formed in 2004 and is run by the University of Bedfordshire's Knowledge Hub. It has over 450 active participants and is the only network supported by a university, giving it direct access to academic expertise. The majority of The Knowledge Network's members are representatives of private sector organisations in Luton and Bedfordshire, with a minority of members from the public and voluntary sectors.
The Knowledge Network organises a regular programme of events that provide networking opportunities for members and presentations from expert speakers on a range of business topics including marketing, ICT, finance, innovation and competitiveness. Events are hosted at Putteridge Bury conference centre.
The Knowledge Network website provides a range of services to members including forums, an events calendar, useful links and information and the opportunity to promote their companies through a directory. The website regularly receives 4,000 hits per week.
