The Killian Curse is a 7 part New Zealand kidult horror-fantasy television show, directed by Thomas Robins and Wayne Vinton, which tells the 21 stories of the students from Room 21, who must each face an evil curse placed on them by the sinister Charles Killian. Killian wanted to get revenge on the people who caused his death shortly after founding the school in 1906. He needs to capture 11 souls to rise from the dead.
1906 Room 21 Students
The original students of Room 21 are caught doing satanic ritual lead by Killian. The parents banished him, but a fire broke out during a struggle which eventually burned the interior of the classroom, killing Killian in the process. Before dying, he swore to get revenge by stealing the 11 souls needed to return from the dead. Killian also said that parents would be blind to the suffering of their children. It is only the other classmates of Room 21 who can see what is happening. One of the kids from present day Room 21 (and narrator of the events of 1906) happens to be the great, great grandson of the man directly responsible for Killian's death. The great, great grandfather and the others in the room at the time of Killian's death are presumed to be ancestors of the current kids in room 21. Shortly after, the room is sealed forever... until.
2006 Room 21 Students

[edit] Second Series
The second season of The Killian Curse began in New Zealand on February 9, 2008 on TV2.
[edit] Episode one (Series 2)
It starts with the pupils of room 21 having an "apoplectic vision" of Killian destroying Killian High whilst in the first assembly. Jack challenges Killian, saying it is just a dream but is overpowered. Killian then says that they will all be experiencing the curse for another year, with one of them helping him. They all re-awake to be placed back in room 21. The Principal also has them sign a contract to say that they won't talk of the curse for that year before introducing Billie, an exchange student from America who is automatically under suspicion. Jack puts in a Buddy system so that Killian won't get anyone on their own.
Byron's soul is none-the-less taken after a skateboarding challenge against a mechanical demon set up by Killian, saving his buddy from the same fate though. Jack says that they are to all help with the next demon. Celia is then taken by a giant moth demon, as is Jack's after he asks who shone a light into her eyes. Billie then appears holding the flashlight responsible, saying that she found it on the ground.
[edit] The Traitor
There has been running speculation as to who the traitor is. In one episode it is revealed to be a girl. Currently Billie, the American exchange student, is suspected by the students of room 21. However, it is shown to the viewer that she is in fact innocent. Since Billie's arrival to room 21 several characters have been accused of being the traitor. No hard evidence has been produced to support these theories, which leaves the identity of the traitor in shadow.
In the final episode, broadcast on March 22nd, the traitor was revealed and it was discovered she was possessed by a spirit that Killian had arranged to help him. Therefore she wasn't able to control her actions in helping Killian.
In the end they got rid of Killian, when one of the demons was set free and began to attack him. However, the students, all of whom had entered Killian's realm to free the original 10, were stuck there after the portal to the outside world closed.
It is shown at the end of the final episode that the students are smiling at their teacher, but appear to be in a trance. In the next scene it is shown that the entire class are all zombies and that it seems Killian has won, although the demon had destroyed him earlier.
At this stage, it is unknown if a third series will be commissioned. But given the ending as described above it's unlikely.
[edit] DVD Release
The DVD release of the Killian Curse was due to have been released around a week after the final episode went to air, but was delayed for unknown reasons. It was finally released December 14, 2006 and is called (on the DVD cover) "The Killian Curse - Series One".
The DVD differs from the broadcast version, due to the fact it is shown in 16:9 widescreen whereas free-to-air New Zealand television (as well as some of the pay TV channels) still broadcast in standard 4:3 format.
