The Journal of Politics is a leading peer-reviewed international general journal of political science founded in 1939 and published quarterly (February, May, August and November) by Blackwell Publishing on behalf of the Southern Political Science Association. It is usually abbreviated as "JoP." The journal can be accessed online via Blackwell Synergy (older volumes before 2000 via JSTOR). Currently its editor-in-chief is Prof. John G. Geer (Department of Political Science, Vanderbilt University). Current editorial associates are Jennifer Anderson, Patrick Bentley, John Hudak and Karen Owen.
