The Jester is a roller coaster found at Six Flags New Orleans. Originally constructed as The Joker's Revenge by Vekoma for the 1996 season at Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, it was relocated to Six Flags New Orleans between 2002 and 2003 and renamed The Jester. In August 2005, the ride was closed along with the entire Six Flags New Orleans theme park due to Hurricane Katrina. It was and still is the only Vekoma Hurricane to operate in the United States.

[edit] Relocation

The Joker's Revenge was operational for the 1996 through the 2001 seasons. It was the only roller coaster that would let riders travel through a corkscrew backwards. Many riders complained that it was rough and uncomfortable to ride. In 2002 it was not opened due to mechanical problems and was left standing for much of the season. In 2003, Six Flags relocated the ride to New Orleans for the newly acquired theme park there (the park was previously called Jazzland). In May 2003, the ride was opened with a new name and paint scheme.
