[edit] Hosts
The show is hosted by Casey Bartholomew and Ray Rossi and is produced by Charod Williams.[1]
In June 2007, The Jersey Guys were named the #9 most influential political personalities in the state of New Jersey.[2]
[edit] Ray Rossi (2002 to present)
Ray Rossi was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He started off his career doing broadcasts at a small 1000 watt daytime AM station in Ft. Valley, GA. Here, he quickly became known for his Brooklyn accent. Ray then moved onto radio stations in places such as Harrisburg, PA, and Tampa, FL before he returned home to New York City. Over the past decade, Ray has been on several NYC stations, including WHTZ (Z-100), WQHT (Hot 97) and 107.1 WYNY, an old NYC Country Station, here he was the morning man and production director. He eventually ended up landing the afternoon slot with Craig Carton at NJ101.5, where the term "The Jersey Guys" would be coined.[3]
Ray now resides in New Jersey and has been married to his wife for over 28 years.
[edit] Casey Bartholomew (2007 to Present)
Casey Bartholomew was born in 1969 in Orange County, California. He was a board operator at KFI in Los Angeles, 1991-97, for a variety of different shows. From 1994-1997 he hosted a weekend KFI talk show with Scott Hasick. The show moved to WDBO in Orlando, from 1997-1998, before returning to KFI in Los Angeles. Then, in 1999 The Scott and Casey show was heard in the 2-7 pm time slot on New Jersey 101.5 until July of 2002. From there the show went to WKRK, in Detroit, and was the highest rated midday show on the station, ever, up to that point. Currently Casey is one of the Jersey Guys on New Jersey 101.5, along with Ray Rossi.[4]
[edit] Craig Carton (2002-2007)
Craig Carton was one of the original hosts of the Jersey Guys program. Carton left the station in August 2007, to team up with Boomer Esiason on a new morning show on New York's WFAN-AM radio station effective September 4, 2007. [5] The vacancy created by Carton's departure was filled by former New Jersey 101.5 personality Casey Bartholomew.
[edit] Activism
Casey and Rossi, like many of the personalities on New Jersey 101.5, promote New Jersey-based stories and vocally lobby for political and social causes.
[edit] Coalition Against Corrupt Politicians
On April 11, 2007, approximately 4:12 p.m., the "Coalition Against Corrupt Politicians" was announced on the show. It has been stated that the program will allow for citizens to report, "bribery, fraud, pension padding, nepotism, cronyism and other [forms of corruption.]" This program has been put together with the approval of U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie. Citizens are able to submit email anonymously with any information regarding corruption in the state of New Jersey. The information will be used to help U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie build cases against the corrupt. So far, ten politicians have agreed to be members of the coalition including Senate President Richard Codey. [6]
[edit] Charity
The Jersey Guys give sums of money to charities, as well as conduct their own. Every year, in the month of December, they host an annual charity event known as 'A Christmaka Miracle'. During this event, the Jersey Guys give donations to families from New Jersey who have recently been in need of help. Listeners call in and donate money and gifts to these families, who include people who have gone through personal tragedies and impoverished individuals. Callers also donate gift cards and other tokens of appreciation to help out those in need. The Jersey Guys donate a Christmas tree and a turducken to each of the families.
The Jersey Guys also have a foundation entitled "The Circle of Trust". This foundation helps out other local charities, as well as people in need.
