The Japanese Popstars are an electro dance act from Derry, Northern Ireland.

The group were formed after a number of drunken nights talking about the idea. Finally, after attending a number of big music festivals, such as Oxegen and Glastonbury, they were inspired to create their own music. Each DJ has his own alias. The act were nominated for Best House DJs at the 2006 World Urban Music Awards, Best Live Performance at the 2007 N.Ireland Dance Music Awards and have a DJ residency at Ireland's brand new superclub “515 @ Tripod” in Dublin, GPO in Galway, "Yello" in Belfast, Excentric Ibiza and Guest Residents at Excentric UK.

The Japanese Popstars have been tipped for the ones to watch by major administrators in the music industry and Mixmag have also stated that they are "Currently Causing A Stir In The World Of Electro".
