The James Young High School

The James Young High School is a secondary level school in Dedridge, Livingston, Scotland. The School opened in 1982.[1]
The feeder primary schools are Bankton Primary, Bellsquarry Primary, Dedridge Primary, Peel Primary and Williamston Primary.[citation needed]
James Young High is a coeducational state school which has over 2000 pupils. The current Head is Mr Christophor A Horne. The James Young High School is set for refurbishment over the next few years. The school uniform consists of a purple jumper or white shirt with purple tie.
A certain level of support is provided to pupils outside the classroom, with downloadable resources from their website at http://www.jamesyoung.org.

In 2005, HMIE undertook an inspection of the school.[2] The inspection found that the school's pastoral care, partnership with parents and vocational guidance were all of very high quality and that the school had devel oped a "culture of continuous improvement". It identified weaknesses in accommodation and facilities as areas in need of attention.
