The Ivy is a restaurant on West Street, near Covent Garden in London, England. It opened in 1917 and is popular with celebrities and theatre goers. In 2000, the restaurant was awarded the Moet & Chandon London Restaurant Award for excellence.[1]
It has a sister restaurant, Le Caprice, which is located behind the Ritz in the St James's area of London. Like The Ivy, it is a place to be seen. Caprice Holdings, whose proprietor is Richard Caring, also owns and runs J. Sheekey's, a fish restaurant in the traditional grand style, located near Leicester Square.
The Ivy is also the name of a popular restaurant in Los Angeles, although the two establishments are unrelated, and owned by separate companies. The Ivy On Clark is the name of a sports bar in Chicago.
