The Iron Woman is the 1993 sequel to the popular Ted Hughes novel The Iron Man.
The plot revolves around environmental themes, with the Iron Woman deciding to teach humanity a lesson for polluting the marsh where she lives, and to force them to stop destroying the planet. With the help of Hogarth and the space-bat-angel-dragon last seen in The Iron Man, she turns all men in the United Kingdom into water creatures to force them to endure their own filthy water. The pollution takes the form of a monstrous spider, which is sucked into space. A magical solution to the problem of waste is left behind.
