The Iron Bell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Iron Bell (Paamon Habarzel) is an artistic and political Fanzine that originated in northern Israel. The editors of the magazine are Rami Mornel, an appreciated reporter and writer and Leon Kapka (Guy Hadar), a well respected painter and writer who also paints the front pages. Both of the editors left in early stages of their army services and became vocal opponents of the current Israeli militaristic culture.
The Iron Bell includes editorials, poems, stories, illustrations and paintings. The magazine supports the notion of zero intervention in the artistic works, which creates an eclectic mix of ideas and points of view. Besides the writing of random artists, the magazine includes Mornel and Hadar running figures like Yoni Ringel, a boy that lost both of his legs in a terrorist attack and "the Disgruntled\Brave Gourd" a northern bouncer that goes against the whole world.
