The International Karate Plus

This article is about the Welsh indie rock group. For the computer game, see International Karate +.
The International Karate Plus, also known as IK+, were an indie rock group from Cardiff, Wales. Formed from the remnants of Mo-Ho-Bish-O-Pi by Rich Arnold and Mike Carter after an acrimonious split with V2 Records, the three piece was completed by drummer Chris Sklavounos. The band is almost certainly named after International Karate +, a karate computer game published in 1987, although the band have contested this in jest:
“ | Why 'International'? Because Chris is a Greek. Why 'Karate'? Because Richie likes to dress up. What's the 'Plus'? Mike's iron leg. And 'The' makes it sound proper like. [sic][1] | ” |
