"The Instrumental" is the fourth single from Lupe Fiasco's debut album, Food & Liquor. The song features Jonah Matranga and was produced by Mike Shinoda. A video was shot shortly before the announcement of The Cool but has not been released as of yet.
"The Instrumental" is also featured in Madden NFL '07 and Project Gotham Racing 4.
It is rumored that the release of the single and music video was abandoned because the release was delayed after "The Cool" was announced making the release of the single of a previous album.[citation needed]
