[edit] Production

Filming began on October 12, 2007 in Los Angeles, and later moved to Uruguay and Buenos Aires before wrapping up on December 6, 2007.[1]

Actor Jon Foster has announced that the supernatural elements of the short stories, including zombies and vampires, have been removed from the film adaptation.[2]

Ashley Olsen was originally cast as Christie, the stepdaughter of Bassinger's character. However, Olsen withdrew and was replaced by Heard.

This was Brad Renfro's final film as shooting wrapped up approximately one month before his death in early 2008
