[edit] Plot

Paul Racine (Christopher Lambert) is on one of his many business trips to Tokyo, as a computer-chip executive from New York, when he meets a beautiful and mysterious woman named Kirina (Joan Chen), and has a one night stand with her.

Soon after, ruthless killer Kinjo (John Lone), the leader of a ninja cult, decapitates Kirina after he tells her that she's the first person ever to see his face.

Paul, who left his keys behind in Kirina's room, returns to the room and witnesses the murder. And because Paul has become the second person to see Kinjo's face, Paul's life is in danger.

After hooking up with a modern-day samurai named Takeda (Yoshio Harada), who has his own score to settle with Kinjo, Paul learns swordsmanship, and perhaps, a little about courage, honor, love, and loyalty.

Paul slices his way through Kinjo's followers on his way to a confrontation with Kinjo.
