From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (traditional Chinese: 香港演藝學院), located near the north coast of Wan Chai on the Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong, is both an academic institution and a venue for performances ranging from amateur dramatics through to international professional appearances. Established in 1984, it is the only tertiary institution in the territory which provides professional education, training and research facilities in the performing arts, theatre technical arts, and film and television.

The academy offers programmes from post-secondary diploma up to bachelor honours and master degree. Academy was granted degree awarding status in 1992 following an accreditation by the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation.

Since 1986 the academy has hosted the annual Hong Kong International Dance Conference.[1]
