The High Society are a rock group from Birmingham, UK. The group formed in early 2006 under the name "The Bombshell AC's", but had assumed the High Society moniker by the time of its live debut in March. The original lineup included "Maxi" Browne and Martyn Nelson, formerly of King Adora, on vocals and guitar respectively, with the addition of Ade Preston (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums) and Glen Jones (bass). When Ade Preston left the band in July 2006, he was replaced by a new guitarist known only as Topper. According to the band's official MySpace page, Ade left the band because he had been extradited to Transylvania. However, some fans have questioned the authenticity of this claim. These days Ade can be found in the up and coming punk outifit "Beat Union". Visit the official myspace page
The High Society's music is predominantly glam rock-influenced, drawing comparisons to Guns N' Roses and, of course, King Adora.
May/June 2007: The band locked themselves away for two days in a studio somewhere in the West Midlands. The fruits of their labour will present themselves in the form of a 3 track EP - due to be released digitally (via iTunes and Sony Connect) on August 7th 2007.
A limited number of CD copies (100) were pressed for distribution at gigs during the June/July period.
The tracklisting runs:
01. The Stripper
02. Can't Stay Away
03. Revenge
