[edit] Developments
[edit] Millennium Developments
The High School began re-developing its campus with the "Millennium Developments" Projects, which were completed in the summer of 2002. The projects involved the creation of two new buildings. The first, the "Technical and Crafts Building" contained four new classrooms. Two Home Economics Laboratories, A brickworking Room, and two Technical Graphics Classrooms. The second building combined a music centre, archive room, rugby/cricket pavilion, and meeting rooms. This replaced the old Music Centre behind the school stage, and the 30-year old rugby pavilion.
[edit] Laboratories and ICT project
In 2003/2004, a second computer room based on a thin-client network was created. These computers originally ran Windows 2000. Also in this school year plans were created to refurbish the 30-year old school laboratories to modern standards, on a phased basis during summer holidays. Among the new innovations are key-operated gas pressure systems and eye-wash stations. Also in the summer of this year, the ageing main computer network (based in Windows 98) was upgraded with 28 modern PCs running Windows XP. The school servers and thin-client network were updated to Windows Server 2003.
[edit] Wireless Networking
In the summer of 2004/2005, two more laboratories were refurbished, and the school was fitted with a complete-coverage wireless network.
[edit] Classroom Multimedia
Beginning in 2005/2006, all of the school classrooms are to be fitted with digital video projectors, with the teachers in those classrooms being supplied with laptop computers for this purpose.
