The Hermitage (Scotland)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hermitage is a National Trust for Scotland-protected site in Dunkeld, Perth and Kinross. Located just to the west of the A9, it sits on the banks of the River Braan. It is home to Ossian's Hall of Mirrors and Ossian's Cave, a pair of Victorian follies, reportedly built by the Dukes of Atholl in the 18th century to honour the blind bard Ossian.[1]
Also in its ground is a Douglas-fir that, at 59 metres (194 feet), is one of the tallest trees in the United Kingdom.[2]
