The Hep Cat Is a 1942 Warner Bros Cartoon Directed By Bob Clampett Story By Warren Foster, Animation By Robert Mckimson, Music By Carl W. Stalling. This Cartoon is Known As The First Color Looney Tune

The Cartoon Opens With A Cat Strolling Along and comes across a Dog Named Rosebud the dog notices the cat and rapidly chases him. but misses him and hit's the fence and bounces back to his doghouse. the cat. then check's if the dog's still chaseing him then goes into a singing sequence. in which he sings lyrics of the tune Java Jive". He also Comes across a female cat inwhich he finds atractive and tries to woo her but the girl ignors and the cat thinks the girl has a cold shoulder. Then, a Brick Drops On The Cat's Head with a note attached to it. as he reads the note. he finds out that another girl likes him. he Picks Up A Batch Of Flowers And Strolls Along to his Mystery Girl. but finds out that the dog is still wanting to chase him and he hides in a dirt bin of flowers and he starts looking for the dog (they eventually find themselves) and in the next scene. the cat finds his mystery girl (even Though it's just a puupet controlled by rosebud) the girl kisses the cat. he then finds out that the girls just a puppet when he accidently kisses rosebud and then the chase starts again. they start chasing each other on a apartment building and the cat balances on a wire (as the dog gets tangeld up) and falls. at the last scene. the cat starts kissing the puppet even thought it's not the real thing. then a robin asks, and says that's not the real thing. but the cat replies he can dream can't he? and the cartoon closes while the cat's still kissing
