The Hand of the Devil is a 2006 fantasy horror novel written by Dean Vincent Carter. It is centred around a young man named Ashley Reeves, a journalist for a science magazine Missing Link. Agreeing to his terms, Ashley travels to the island alone, and becomes stranded, and what was once a good story quickly transforms into a macabre nightmare.

When Ashley Reeves, a young journalist working for freak-of-nature magazine Missing Link, receives a letter promising him the story of his life, his life is exactly what it might cost him.
The letter is from Reginald Mather, who at first seems no more than an eccentric collector of insects, happy to live in isolation on a remote island. But when Reeves finds himself stranded with Mather and unearths the horrific truth behind his past, he is thrown headlong into a macabre nightmare that quickly spirals out of control. His life is in danger ... and Mather is not his only enemy ...
