The Gun Runners, a 1958 film directed by Don Siegel, is the second remake of To Have and Have Not (1944) and stars Audie Murphy in the Humphrey Bogart role and Everett Sloane in Walter Brennan's part as the alcoholic sidekick, although Sloane's interpretation was less overtly comedic than Brennan's. Eddie Albert portrays a charismatic villain and other cast members include Jack Elam and Richard Jaeckel.
The earlier remake, titled The Breaking Point (1950), was directed by Michael Curtiz and stars John Garfield.
