The Greenskeepers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greenskeepers are a music group from Chicago. One of their most notable tracks is "Lotion", a song that pays homage to Buffalo Bill, the fictitious serial killer featured in the 1991 film, The Silence of the Lambs. The chorus of "Lotion" comes from Buffalo Bill's most recognizable line of dialogue in the film, that being "[i]t rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."
Recently, "Lotion" was featured prominently in "Much Too Much," a second season episode of Grey's Anatomy that was originally broadcast on November 27, 2005. As the song plays in the background, Dr. George O'Malley (played by T.R. Knight) warns Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) that if she does not curb her recent promiscuity that she will end up in a pit with a killer ordering her to rub the lotion on her skin. Other songs of theirs that have been featured on the show are "You Don't Know Me" and their remix of French band Los Chicros' "Back in the Wild".
"Lotion" also came in at #90 in the 2004 Triple J Hottest 100.
The band recently made a song for the videogame Grand Theft Auto IV called "Vagabond". The song was featured in one of the commercials, in the game itself, and on the soundtrack.
The band was heavily championed by the late British DJ John Peel, their track "Low & Sweet" appearing in his 2001 Festive Fifty.
