The Greatest Show Unearthed is the 2006 debut album by alternative rock band Creature Feature.

Due to extensive advertising on MySpace and good reviews in horror magazines such as Rue Morgue, Unearthed was hugely successful; the band sold out of copies within a matter of months. In 2007, Creature Feature was picked up by Sumerian Records, thus getting the album a wide release in major retail stores and a full remixing and remastering. The rerelease arrives in stores October 30, 2007.

[edit] Song Inspirations

Most of the tracks on The Greatest Show Unearthed are more or less inspired by specific horror films.

Works named include "A Dream Within a Dream", "The City in the Sea," "The Valley of Unrest," "The Masque of the Red Death", "Loss of Breath," "The Premature Burial," "The Oblong Box," "The Oval Portrait", "The Fall of the House of Usher", and others.
  • A Gorey Demise is a homage to the Edward Gorey book The Gashlycrumb Tinies.
  • Look to the Skies is based on Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
