The Great Unwanted is Lucky Soul's debut album, released on April 9 2007.
The George Shilling-produced LP met with critical acclaim, including a five-star review in Metro newspaper, a further five stars from the Independent on Sunday, and four stars each from The Guardian, The Times, and Uncut magazine.
The band worked on the album during the late summer of 2006. It includes Lucky Soul fans on the recording, they were invited into provide backing from Get Outta Town! and Ain't Never Been Cool.
In 2006, BBC Radio 1's Colin Murray predicted the album would win the 2007 Mercury Music Prize. However it failed to make the shortlist.
