The Godson

The Godson is a Canadian rapper.

Born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, The Godson is one of Yellowknife's best known rap artists and performers. The Godson, otherwise known as Aaron Hernandez, started his musical career at the age of 16 with the release of his first group's album 'Redemption'. In both 1998 and 1999 Unonymus Inc. were YTV Achievement Awards finalists. The group disbanded in 2000. After minor success with his new band, Liquid Eyez, Aaron went on to release three solo albums under his stage name, The Godson.

In 2006, The Godson, tried out for Canadian Idol, and while he didn't make the final cut, he was asked by producers of the television program to write a song for the show. Titled, 'The One'. CTV went on to film a video which they used to kick off the 4th season of the program.
