The book is set in both contemporary and 17th century Venice. The book tells the stories of greatest glass artist in Venice, Corradino Manin, and his descendant Nora Manin. Carradino Manin sells his talent and his soul to Louis XIV to protect his daughter. In present day, Nora Manin leaves London for Venice to become a glassblower herself, only to uncover mysteries involving Carridino.
