The Georgia Rugby Union is a non-profit organization that is the primary overseeing body for the promotion of rugby union throughout Georgia and the Southeastern United States. The GRU has been in existence since perhaps as early as 1978.
The GRU is divided into 4 divisions. The most prominent division is the Men's Professional Division. However there is also a Men's Collegiate Division, a Women's Professional Division and a Women's Collegiate Division. The Men's Professional Division focuses on Atlanta, yet this division also hosts clubs across Georgia and also in South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama.
