"The Gentle Art of Making Enemies" originally released from Faith No More's 1995 studio album King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime. It is one of the heaviest songs on the album. The song's title comes from James McNeill Whistler's 1890 book The Gentle Art of Making Enemies. A single for the song had been planned but was canceled due to poor record sales. However, the song later appeared on Faith No More's 1998 greatest hits compilation Who Cares a Lot?.
